This was such a fun weekend! Cub Scouts are getting worked on formations by Chi Khanh. Scouts are learning some fun tote n chit training - How can it not be fun playing with knives, axes, and saws??? What could possibly go wrong? Venturing crew doing some lashings and pioneering work to see who's stick is bigger - good stuff all around!
Routine meeting after a fun filled Bear Paw trip. Scouts with more training. Parents meeting and forming our soon to be awesome Parents Support Team!
The Scouts also went on a first time adventure in the Snow to the Bear Paw event in Cisco Grove. We had an amazing time playing in the snow, sledding, building a snow shelter, and having a good old fashioned snow ball fight. It was an Epic trip and we look forward to making this part of our tradition!
The Venturing Crew continued a great tradition and made the trek up to Lake Tahoe for a memorable winter snow trip. The pictures and video are amazing. Tahoe Video
One of our first full meetings as a merged unit with girls and boys in the scouting program together. Every group is diligently preparing for our Winter Snow trip the following week. Of course we'll squeeze in some scout fun as well.
We celebrated the Lunar New Year Tet with our larger Scouting Community at Silver Creek High School. A wonderful time for all. Fun games, good food, and some li xi! Chuc Mung Nam Moi!!!
To kick off the new year, today we embarked on a new adventure with many new bridging ceremonies. We had cub scouts move on to boy scouts, boy scouts graduate to venturing scouts, and perhaps the biggest move up all was to welcome our girls scouts to the larger Scouting movement. Many new boys and girls took on leadership roles and continue to grow each and every day with LDBD.
Happy New Year LDBD! Welcome to the first meeting of 2019. We hope everyone enjoyed a brief holiday break. We're excited to kick off the new year with a ton of new and exciting scouting adventures.
Today was a special occasion and milestone for LDBD. We celebrated our first Eagle Scout Court of Honor. Five extraordinary young men joined the elite group of Scouts who have earned Scouting Highest Achievement and Rank. It took a great deal of work, perseverance, leadership, and commitment to get here. Of course, this was not just an individual effort, but required the help from family, friends, fellow scouts, and leaders. Congratulations to Danny, Cory, Nam, William, and Thanh on earning their Eagle Scout and we look forward to their ongoing Scouting journey as they look for ways to give back to the scouting movement.
The Holidays brought us together for a wonderful party full of amazing performances by all of our units. Food and drink was plentiful and delicious. Mr and Mrs Claus made an appearance - let's remind Mrs Claus to shave next year. The Photo booth delivered us some funny memories. What a fantastic way to wrap up our Scouting Year!
