Today was a special occasion and milestone for LDBD. We celebrated our first Eagle Scout Court of Honor. Five extraordinary young men joined the elite group of Scouts who have earned Scouting Highest Achievement and Rank. It took a great deal of work, perseverance, leadership, and commitment to get here. Of course, this was not just an individual effort, but required the help from family, friends, fellow scouts, and leaders. Congratulations to Danny, Cory, Nam, William, and Thanh on earning their Eagle Scout and we look forward to their ongoing Scouting journey as they look for ways to give back to the scouting movement. The Holidays brought us together for a wonderful party full of amazing performances by all of our units. Food and drink was plentiful and delicious. Mr and Mrs Claus made an appearance - let's remind Mrs Claus to shave next year. The Photo booth delivered us some funny memories. What a fantastic way to wrap up our Scouting Year! Cub Scouts working on advancement. Boy Scouts earning Merit Badges. Girl Scouts working on Veterans Day cards. Ventures off on an adventurous backpacking trip to Big Basin - hiking the Sun to Sea trail! We celebrated our ONE year Anniversary on Angel Island! We brought 150 scouts, friends, and family to San Francisco to catch a ferry to Angel Island and we had an amazing time sight seeing, hiking, playing scout games, eating good food, and just celebrating ourselves! Preparing for our one year anniversary picnic. Ventures going backpacking. Making more Veterans Day cards. Training for the election night volunteering and fundraising. DODGEBALL!!! Beautiful fall weather. Kids playing, having fun, making cards for our Veterans Day community service! Great looking troop. The crew learning semaphore. GS learning vietnamese songs. BS and CS doing what... scout things??? We did a beautiful hike up Mt Umunhum. 4 miles with a huge elevation gain. Congrats to all the cub scouts, girl scouts, and ventures who made the journey. Parents did pretty darn awesome too! Wow we have lots of scouts in our LDBD troop! Cub scouts playing a very fun game of red rover |
