Just a slow week with not too many pictures as we prepare for Boy Scouts Hi-Sierra summer camp, Cub Scouts backyard campout, and the Venturing trip to SoCal!

Venture scouts looking good! New neckerchiefs for some Cub Scouts. Typical LDBD meeting: learning Morse Code, three legged races, and making woggles! Starting to feel like summer with a warm sunny day. The kids were practicing the patrol method by having the Venture Scouts teach and train the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts first aid techniques. LDBD also continues to grow with new members each and every week. Beautiful Sunday morning. Boys getting some badges after camp! We had an amazing first camping trip of the year at Camp Tamarancho in the Marin mountains. So much fun hiking into camp, cooking contest, canoeing, night games, campfires, and just overall a great time. Loads of pictures to remind us of a great weekend together. Today was a very proud day for LDBD as we received a commendation from Mayor Sam Liccardo and Councilman Tam Nguyen for our volunteer and community service work at the Vietnamese Heritage Garden. It was also an excellent opportunity for our scout to see and engage in the daily work of our local government. We had the amazing opportunity to build and launch rockets at Lockheed Martin and NASA! This was a great STEM activity encouraging kids to pursue studies and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math - plus it was just super fun and cool. We need to get more Scouts out next year for this fun and free event! We continued a very busy month of May preparing some goodies for Mothers Day and also prepping for Memorial Day CAMP! First time at the Scout O Rama for LDBD. What an awesome event! We had a very busy STEM Robotics booth that was popular with many scouts. Our scouts also had the chance to meet and explore the scouting world around us. Really a fun day. Thanks to all the leaders, parents, and scouts who volunteered to make the day a success. |
